Would you recommend this Guide? Yes No Hide. Send Skip Hide. Message Sent. Update 0. All these missions can be found in your Goals Tab which is the middle tab button on the left hand side of your touch screen. Unlike the other two Sim games out you cannot earn your skills points as you did earlier, you will find them at seemingly random intervals every couple hours, they will stay there for as long as 8 hrs each time and you will often find two the same hour.
Now in this game you can still recycle in a sense. Now this is very advantageous I have found as when doing the mini missions that come along all I have to do it look to my mini clock located in the bottom left corner of the top screen to see what time it is. Now is you miss your mission you can always just reload your last save but you will most likely not get that mission back until someone calls your Sim again about something else.
Step 2 - here you will be choosing their hair style and colour. There are also much more choices than in the other two Sims for the portable system. Then you can choose our normal clothes tops and bottoms , uniforms, and evening wear for what you would like your Sim to wear on a day-to-day basis. Fortune - You earn additional money from hotel guests! Popularity - You improve your relationship with other Sims faster! Romance - Other Sims will be in the mood for Romance more often!
Party - You receive twice as much sanity from using objects! Your primary missions will be given to you by the current tenant of the Penthouse. As you progress in the game, there will be three different tenants in the Penthouse and each of these will have rather sinister ambitions. And keeping it clean and tidy. Your guests will come and go, you will earn and loose money but that is life right?!
Your Mini games will come from those random guests and the Concierge. Now this is nice to a certain extent but can be a pain, as I hate waiting for my Sim to tell me they are hungry until they are really hungry, but as you interact with the different guests whether it be calming them down, or restraining them or what ever else is wrong with them at the time, your Sanity level will raise gradually. Like in the other Sim games you will need to feed and bathe your Sim.
Food — can be found in any fridge in any hotel room at no cost free food YAY though you can also buy it in the saloon and most of the places in the Atrium.
Like in mentioned earlier you cannot earn these the normal way, they are found randomly throughout the game. When you do spot one it will show up as a glowing icon that you can just pick up how handy huh?
More information on this will come later on when needed. JERKY, he will then start talking to you. Jeb: Whoa there, slick.
Strangetown is dying faster than frogs on a freeway. What's your business here? Car troubles, eh? Well now I'm known 'round here as something of a handyman, but don't believe anything else you hear. I'd be willing to have a look under the hood if you don't mind. That engine's got more holes than a doughnut shot. It's gonna take a while, a few days maybe.
You could head on over to the Strangetown Hotel and secure yourself a bed. You tell them Jebediah Jerky sent ya. I don't know that it'll help any, but I like getting my name out there. You can find your missions on the bottom screen it will be the middle button on the left side of the screen. To walk around you use the control pad, press B to run or Walk.
Inside the Hotel the Concierge will talk to you. Concierge: Zzz Oh, ah, welcome to the Strangetown Hotel. Can I help you with Oh, this is pointless. It's not like anyone is paying me anymore. That's right. My boss just walked out yesterday. He said he was fed up with the place and- Hold on, is the power out? I've for to watch this desk It's in the basement through the door on the left. Head down the stairs and walk straight ahead. Pick up any of the fuel rods you find lying around and toss them in the furnace.
Press the A Button to pick them up. Now the rods won't always be lined up all nice and pretty from here on. Now head back up the stairs to the Hotel Lobby. When you are back in the lobby the screen will focus on the concierge again.
Concierge: Yes! The power's back on. Each of those fuel rods lasts about 3 days, though the furnace can hold more than one at a time. I found it behind my computer monitor after you left. The sun shines, the earth spins, and smart people like you run hotels. Good luck After reading the letter Jebediah will come into the hotel. Jeb: Phew! This place isn't exactly a palace, is it?
Concierge: We never saw more than one guest a month, Jeb. There was never any reason to clean up. Jeb: That's backwards thinking! In the town, there are a handful of locations that the player can visit.
Other than their hotel, they can visit the shop, where Johnny Smith resides and the player can buy furniture and necessary progression items, the jail, where they will go if they lose sanity under certain conditions, the city hall, where the player can get permits to build new hotel rooms and sell nuclear rods, and finally the saloon, where the player can buy food, drinks, and sell gourds to the Saloon Chick. Right outside of town is the desert, where the player can find missing items but will rapidly lose sanity while out there.
There is also a field filled with three cows that the player can either tip, milk, or give gifts to. Skill points, when they appear, will remain in the same location for 8 hours, changing at 8 a. Only one skill point of each type can be found at a certain time, day and location. There is no other way to build skills in the game. The player needs to reach level 5 in the Mechanical skill by the end of the game to complete a task.
Note that a bug exists to take a skill point as many times as you want : before taking it, shoot it with the Super Drencher the lock needs to be activated , take it, now go out of the room and enter again. The Skill point will be there again, this can be repeated for an unlimited amount of times.
Players can earn Simoleons by getting guests to check in the hotel. The more expensive the furniture is in the guest rooms, the more the guests will pay for their stay. Alternate ways of getting Simoleons include; finding license plates and selling them to the sheriff in the jail, selling fuel rods to the clerk in the city hall, selling gourds to the lady in the Saloon , and selling UFO parts to the general store clerk, Johnny Smith. Odd things like rocks and spare furniture can be sold to Johnny as well.
Calming down, cheering up, and restraining Sims will result in a reward, such as simoleons, fuel rods or gourds. Players can also make Simoleons by creating art in the gallery, playing music in the Sax Lounge and the Lion Lounge by playing on the keyboard, winning the lottery cards found in the shop, or by winning Keelhaulin' Cards in the Casino.
The metal detector can find things like mummified aliens and metal bars in the desert that you can sell to the shop clerk. Mummified aliens can also be dissected in a minigame inside of the Government Lab.
Once the player builds The Vault for their hotel, there is a money machine near the back where Sims can print Simoleons. However, doing this can get the player arrested. Copper, silver, gold and chocolate bars can be sold in this room for a larger amount than in the shop. These attacks are mostly random; however, time travelling backwards will cause an alien invasion in every available spawn point. These can be fought off by your Sim as the Ratticator. To unlock this, the player must have access to the Rat Cave.
The Rat Cave is set up like a metal cage, similar to a hamster cage, with tubes leading to different sections. For example, Sims with low Fun may stop watching TV simply to complain to the player.
All eight bars are weighted and averaged to make the mood summary, the vertical meter between the five icons and eight Need Bars. If the mood summary ever drops below half and goes into red , the Sim will refuse to do things like study.
Also a high summary will enable fast promotions in jobs and good grades for younger Sims. Remember in the last sub-section, we talked about the Platinum level of the aspiration meter? If the aspiration meter gets higher than the top line, your Sim will enter Platinum Mood Mode. This will completely max out the mood summary, basically enabling the Sim to study things non-stop unless their Energy completely drops.
That alone makes it worthwhile to keep those Wants fulfilled. No Sim is an island even on SimIsle. Your Sim will eventually get to know other Sims in the neighborhood, even a few who you did not create. The summary of relationships are in the relationship panel, which is represented by the second icon in the vertical set of five the one with two people that's under the crystal.
You can filter the list to show only friends, only family, only other Sims in the same house, or all Sims that yours currently knows.
The other Sims are represented by thumbnails of their face. Under their pictures are two horizontal bars with matching numbers, and possibly a few symbols as well. The upper bar and number are the Sim's daily short-term relationship level with the target Sim, and lower bar and number are the Sim's lifetime long-term relationship level.
The higher the number, the more romantic interactions become available, and non-romantic interactions have a better chance of succeeding. Lower numbers allow violent interactions to become available, and those interactions always succeed. For every successful interaction worded that the interaction "passes" , the daily relationship meter goes up a few points based on the intensity of the action.
Mere talking may bump it up a few points, but making out may kick it up 10 or more. Every few hours, the lifetime relationship meter moves toward the daily meter by a few points. The symbols which may or not be next to the meters represent what your Sim thinks of the target. A red face represents an enemy Sim, one that your Sim can unleash its fury on. A blue face indicates friendship. A friend contributes toward the house's Family Friend count, which is used to get promotions in jobs. Two green faces claims two Sims as being best friends, which might be a step toward a romantic relationship if you so desire.
A pink heart represents a crush, showing that the active Sim gets some butterflies whenever the target walks by. Two pink hearts mean a Sim is dating, and a red heart means a Sim is madly in love. If your Sim is ready to step up to the next level, then a symbol with a ring and diamond represent engagement.
Two rings represent marriage for heterosexual Sims or simply joined for homosexual Sims. Not get off on a rant here, but if you, as a player, has a problem with one or another lifestyle, let it be known that Sims tend to be heterosexual if left on Free Will.
However, there is no difficulty in getting a Sim to fall in love with a Sim of the gender. No Sim will try for a relationship without your explicit orders, be it heterosexual OR homosexual.
So, if a Sim is fully on Free Will, it will probably not go for a relationship with anyone, but will probably know and befriend more Sims of the opposite sex, provided that there are equal numbers of them in your neighborhood. Don't worry about roommates though. Just because two Sims live in the same house doesn't mean they're family.
For that matter, they may not even like each other. Once a Sim discovers and meets another Sim, though, they will be on each other's relationship panels forever.
Be warned that two Sims may feel differently about each other. In general, the differences will be negligible, but you have to keep the target's feelings in consideration when you try any interaction. A small button on this panel also leads to the family tree, where you can see how Sims are related to each other. If an image in the family tree is grayed out, that Sim has passed on. The third panel of the five is the Job Panel. This says a summary of your Sim's job, including shift time, work days, job performance, and salary.
Talk to Concierge to see who's staying in your Hotel, who long, how much the room is priced, etc. He will also give you tips on how to play the game.
Keep in mind that you need to keep your sanity up. The bar at the bottom of the top screen. Your sim will need to sleep, shower, eat from time to time. Read your book in the Sims 2 case on more of how to play. Explore the town! At the bottom it will show your hotel score , got to the penthouse and talk to Frankie Fusilli. Go back and click "What's Up?
He will want you to build The Vault. This room can be purchased in the city hall. You must have enough funds to buy it. It costs 3, dollars. After you have built The Vault, you will need to find three bars of metal in the desert for him.
To do so, you will need to buy a metal detector from the store. After finding the bars, you will have one last job for Frankie. You will need to bury a chest in the desert.
You will need to buy a shovel for this, and you can find it in the store.. If you try to go to the desert during the day, Jimmy the Neck will shoo you away. Instead, go the desert at night. You will be met by a special agent named Penelope Redd who will confiscate the chest. Go and tell Frankie Fusilli that you buried the chest.
You will eventually meet Penelope Redd again. She will give you a wire to help her catch Frankie. Go to his room, calm him down. After Frankie reveals his true reason for being here he is laundering money in The Vault , Penelope Redd will arrest him. Visit Ava in the Penthouse and she will ask you to build a room with no windows for her cult meeting. Go to Town Hall and build the Bovine Shrine.
When the shrine is built, Ava will ask you to find a mystic cowbell. You can take a normal bell of one of the cows in the field. Next, you will need to purchase some lipstick for her. Eventually, you will receive a mysterious phone call instructing you to find a pyramid in the desert. Go looking for it at night and you will meet Horus Menhoset IX, a mummy who needs your help to stop the Prime Heifer, the deity Ava's cult worships. Find Horus' instrument near behind the oasis and place it in your room.
When Horus Menhoset IX contacts you again, you will need to find a branding iron. This can be found at the sheriff's office. Use this to destroy the Prime Heifer statue. Giving gourds to the statue will allow Horus Menhoset IX to wander around your hotel.
After you have destroyed the Prime Heifer statue, Ava Cavadra will set fire to the penthouse in rage before fleeing. Optimum Alfred will move into the penthouse and begin to clean it up. For this, he will need a recharger, which can be bought from the store.
He will also require 20 fuel rods. He will then try to install a satellite on the sun deck, only for Lord Mole to chew up the cables. You will need to shoot Lord Mole with the water gun. Once Lord Mole has been forced to leave Optimum Alfred will go a little bit mad and set three robots loose on the streets on Strangetown. Lord Mole now freely wanders around your hotel, he is harmless. You can defeat the robots as the "Ratticator".
After this is done Optimum Alfred will lock him self in his room and you will get a visit from Emperor Xizzle, in which he'll stay, treat your person right but hurting the guests until you complete the goal and give him what he wants.
