Palm hotsync serial

The selected COM1 is not available at this time, Hotsync manager will open the port when it becomes available. Apparently this port is continous active and under my device manager ports are not listed. I'm using a usb serial connector, I do not have the cd installation for this cable , is it possible that a usb cd software would create another port?

I'm using a serial cradle with a usb connector on the cradle. Since the doesn't have a serial port, we'll assume it's USB. Reinstall the Palm Desktop software you can download it from Palm using your serial number from the device and choose USB connection.
